The Potomac River is a river of the eastern US that rises in the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia and flows through Washington, DC into the Chesapeake Bay.

The river connects the state of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia and historically has been instrumental in trade and a place to meet.
